Every Summer! Intensive Estonian Language Course for Children Aged 5–11 at the Happy Classes Viimsi Center

CHILDREN AGED 5–7. JUNE 2025 Mondays, 5:30–7:00 PM
Total of 4 sessions in June. Session dates: June 2, 9, 16, and 30.
Course fee: €79
Group size: up to 8 children.

 

CHILDREN AGED 5–7. JULY 2025 Total of 10 sessions in July – Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM (starting June 30).
Each lesson lasts 1.5 hours.
Group size: up to 8 children.
Course fee: €175.

 

CHILDREN AGED 5–7. AUGUST 2025 Total of 7 sessions in August – Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30 PM (starting August 4).
Each lesson lasts 1.5 hours.
Group size: up to 8 children.
Course fee: €149.

 

CHILDREN AGED 8–11. JULY 2025 Total of 10 sessions in July – Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:00 PM (starting June 30).
Each lesson lasts 1.5 hours.

Lessons take place at Happy Classes hobby school, address: Randvere 9, Haabneeme.

 

COURSE FOR CHILDREN AGED 6–7

The summer intensive Estonian language course is a unique opportunity for children aged 6–7 to prepare thoroughly for school. The program is divided into three parts:

  • June – 4 lessons (each 1.5 hours)

  • July – 10 lessons

  • August – 7 lessons

In each part, we:

  • Intensively develop writing and reading skills – practicing fine motor skills, learning correct letter and word formation, and reading extensively.

  • Practice spoken language through dialogues – children learn to communicate in Estonian in various situations.

  • Include playful and creative elements – making learning engaging and effective.

 

Lesson topics do not repeat, helping children continuously discover new aspects of the language and maintain interest in learning. We believe this early and comprehensive preparation helps future first-grade students adapt more easily to school and avoid excessive stress at the beginning of the school year.

 

COURSE FOR CHILDREN AGED 8–11

The summer intensive Estonian language course for children aged 8–11 is a more advanced program that helps children not only strengthen existing knowledge but also reach the next level of language proficiency. The program is divided into three parts:

  • June – 4 lessons (each 1.5 hours)

  • July – 10 lessons

  • August – 7 lessons

Each part includes:

  • More advanced writing skill development – children learn to structure thoughts correctly and write short texts in Estonian.

  • Advanced reading practice – reading more complex texts and analyzing their meaning to improve comprehension and expand vocabulary.

  • Oral expression exercises and dialogues – practicing spoken Estonian in various situations and discussing age-relevant topics.

  • Creative and playful tasks – enriching the learning process with engaging projects so material is reinforced in a fun and accessible way.

 

Monthly lesson topics do not repeat, ensuring continuous learning and sustained motivation. This intensive course significantly improves Estonian language skills and provides a strong start to the new school year.

The workbook “I Want to Become a Schoolchild” is based on the national preschool education curriculum. Topics mainly cover:

  • me and the surrounding environment

  • language and speech

  • mathematics

  • me and my family and relatives

  • my home

  • seasons, months, and days of the week

  • traffic and means of transport

  • safe behavior and everyday hazards

  • activities and healthy lifestyle

  • plants and animals

  • changes in nature and human impact on nature

  • celebrations

 

Workbook tasks help children practice reading, listening, speaking, writing, comparing, and understanding mathematical concepts (sets, shapes, money, units of measurement, time units). Each lesson ends with a “Write and Draw” section, where children draw or write based on the lesson topic or complete a guided task given by the teacher.
